Young persimmons have a habit of casting most of their fruit. Don't be dismayed if yours do - they'll hold onto it and ripen more of it as the trees grow bigger! #persimmons

Finished up our spring permaculture design course with a forest garden brunch. The weather was blazing hot on Sunday but the pond and the trees made a comfortable spot for us, and the fish ate (almost) all the mosquitoes.

We finally (2 years later….) got our clay for the earthen oven. Forested is very sandy loam and we have very little clay on site. Stephanie’s nearby Greenbelt food forest has too much clay so we did a little clay-hugelkulture trade. Abra
